A new spiritual awakening is occurring in human culture brought about by a critical mass of individuals who are beginning to experience their lives as a spiritual unfolding. Without a map this journey of enlightenment can take decades or even lifetimes. With a map and a teacher, however, the journey is made simple and becomes radically fast-tracked.

My work about transformation, the 7 Alchemical Levels and my new book, ‘A Map to God’ about this work contains the map of that unfolding (see weblink below). It describes the quest of the true initiate. Its axiom is that the core purpose of life is a return to wholeness. The process by which life supports that return to wholeness and awareness of ‘authentic or best self’ is called alchemy.

As each of us commits to rediscovering our best selves, mind-body-spirit and emotions are awakened. Thus begins the challenge of turning the lead of personality into spiritual gold. Overcoming the chaos of transformation and living a best potential destiny daily, in moment-to-moment awareness, is the journey of the spiritual hero.

Once we are made aware that something is imbalanced in our lives, we can learn how to transform it. Inspired choices lead to positive changes. As each one of us truly becomes our best self, our world also becomes better. Guidance is given on the journey through the four logical stages of any kind of understanding. By marrying the unconscious, conscious and super-conscious minds, we learn to recognize and achieve, via unconscious incompetence – not knowing that we don’t know; conscious incompetence - knowing that we don’t know; conscious competence -knowing that we know; and finally unconscious competence – a state of being so competent that we no longer have to think about it.

True spirituality requires work not only with the light, but also the dark shadow aspects of our personalities. It is by thoroughly reviewing our lives, and especially by examining our anti-social, compulsive, destructive thoughts and behaviors that we discover how and why we have deviated from the path to wholeness. Resolving these issues is absolutely necessary for success in spiritual alchemy. Those who avoid clearing these often unpleasant but very important issues leave obstacles that will block their progress.

I am very honored to have the opportunity to address the subscribers of 1 Spirit. Some of you may have become familiar with the book of which I am the principal author – The Reincarnation of Edgar Cayce? You may have heard me on George Noory or seen me at one of the Holistic Living Expos in California. But for the majority of you, this is probably our first meeting and I’m going to consider this an introductory article. If you are one of those who is aware of the dimensional upgrade and ascension process which Mother Earth is in the midst of, I may have some perspectives and support systems which you find valuable.

A bit about my background… At different points, in my evolutionary path, I considered myself a singer/songwriter/poet/metaphysical journalist. Like many of you, Edgar Cayce was one of my first “spiritual” influences. My Cayce exposure occurred during the period when I was a physics major at Berkeley some years ago, when I considered myself an agnostic. But this introduction to Edgar Cayce planted seeds of new possibilities and the desire to understand the big picture and what’s beyond the veil. My skeptical scientific mind wanted to understand how a universe could operate to produce such a phenomenon as an Edgar Cayce. I never could have imagined, in my wildest dreams, that I would be the one to answer that question, not just for myself, but for the general public of spiritual seekers who choose to read my book.

Fast forwarding to 1999, I was a staff writer for the Spirit of Ma’at, the web magazine of Drunvalo Malchezidek. I got the job when I sent one of my poems to the editor and she offered to let me try writing articles on assignment. My first article was very well received and for the ensuing months, I ended up interviewing a number of new age luminaries. During this period someone sent me a link to the website of David Wilcock, who gave the indication that he was connected to Edgar Cayce. I studied David’s website and became convinced that David was in fact the incarnation of Cayce. I interviewed David for the Spirit of Ma’at and even my very skeptical editor became convinced after reading the interview and suggested that I was the one who was supposed to write the book about it. Four years later, in 2004, the book was released via North Atlantic Books in Berkeley.

Although the case is very well made, with odds of billions to one, connecting Wilcock and Cayce, there is a far more important aspect to the book – the introduction to the major group oversoul for our planet who explain who they are, how they work with mankind, and the pending dimensional-shift, ascension process which we are in the midst of.

Keep in mind that I was a physics major and I don’t believe things on blind faith. I knew Wilcock had to be Cayce. The wisdom of his source stands on its own. One reader commented that she hasn’t been so impacted since she read Autobiography of a Yogi 30 years ago. (A good portion of the book is dedicated to the current channelings) But ascension, i.e. disappearing from this realm, and ending up in another realm, body intact, was a bit much for me to believe blindly. What’s more, there were indications that the group soul who was speaking through Wilcock might actually be the administrator of this ascension process and was one of the sources who mankind has recognized as God in the Old and New Testaments. Cayce himself, believed it was the Christ speaking through him. I knew I had to include this in the book, even though there was no way I could validate it as true. I would present it and let the reader make up their own mind.

And then something occurred for me personally during the period I was writing the book which helped validate some of the more far out premises of the book (April 2002). I learned that “they” were paying attention to me in a very personal way. My girlfriend at the time, spontaneously started to channel and I was communicating with a source which identified itself as the Council of Elohim. During the course of these communications, I was having extremely accurate future prognostications and a miracle of healing. As nature changes her colors from summer green to the reds, golds, oranges of autumn, I have been changing mine. My present rented home has a sea green carpet all over! I have been buying flowers to lift the energies and my spirits. My favorite colors have been the blue/purple range. Now I find I am attracted to the magenta/pink range.

At this most challenging time for us all, staying focused and in a positive frame of mind may be the most we can do for ourselves. Arranging flowers helps me do this. Painting is another help. And, of course, my all-time favorite past time, reading books -- or your manuscripts.

Here we are well into November and we have high energy anxiety and the possibility to use this high energy time for magic. The other universes are closer than usual and their energy is ours for the integrating. So, if you’ve been anxious, you are tuning into these universes as they get nearer and nearer. If you felt like your dreams could come true, you are also right on track—for, by using this energy to manifest, you are working with the flow rather than against it.

The anxiety must be treated as non-personal. Look at it as a physical manifestation of being able to perceive the combination of planetary line up and the universes touching.

Usually, the many universes have no central connection—at least not one that can be felt this strongly. Now there is a Universal Heart connecting the universes and this is perceived as a feeling of expansion (like your heart is beating for more than just yourself). It is also making issues of love very important.

So it is time to do whatever works to reduce physical anxiety. This could include making sure your blood sugar is level all day by having small more frequent meals; you can do the right amount of exercise for you body, fatigue is not advised; and do whatever spiritual practice you like to reduce anxiety. Make sure you are steering clear of those things that increase anxiety—deal with problems in a practical and swift way, and let go of any issue you can’t deal with until a solution just come to you.

On the other hand, use the magical side of this time to bring your dreams into fruition. Build a feeling of having everything you want. You can do this by remembering times you got what you wanted, you can use your imagination about how having it would feel, and you can use movies or reading to supplement imagery and emotion. Live in this feeling as much as possible and the law of attraction will bring the reality to you.

We are living the New Atlantis. Surround yourself with the good things that make you feel spiritual and healthy. Crystals, feathers, candles, drums, music, people, good smells, and nature are only a few ways that you can use to enhance this change. Let yourself remember the good time in Atlantis by tuning into your own sense of living right, treating people right and loving with a truly open heart.

So as you put love into every place, person, and thing that you encounter, you will be able to align with the energy and the manifesting of dreams.

In April of this year, I was diagnosed with a cancerous tumour in the soft palate of my mouth. The previous fall, I had received the impression from Spirit that my incarnation here in the 3-D realm was coming to an end. It was then, when this tumour was diagnosed, the path of leaving the physical body opened up for me.

As I have taught many workshops over the last five years, I felt it would be a service to all of our students to describe that path through a blogger site. As I went through the process I was amazed at how many e-mails I received which implored me to do this healing or that healing to defeat the cancer. There were very few e-mails that wished me a pleasant trip. (Ed note: I was one who did.)

I myself was not in this space. I have done a considerable amount of work around the death and dying process, and so knew very well this path that was now opening before me .It seems, however, that among people doing spiritual work, and also among the New-Age Movement, there is little or no information about the death and dying process. Part of this process is about embracing the death you are facing. The mechanics of why death appears, and the cause of this is little known. It is the understanding of this process which allows healers to accept that there is little to be done to combat the disease which is being used by that person to leave the incarnation. I guess many healers give themselves a hard time when they do a healing on a person, and that person shows little signs of recovery, and uses the illness to leave the physical body. This should not be the case.

It is, therefore, that I have written an article which explains this process, that goes through the mechanics of leaving the incarnation, and describes briefly the place where we will all end up after we have dropped the physical shell. This article will be available on our website within the next two weeks. It is of considerable length and therefore we have to find a way of installing it on the site so that people have access to it easily. For all those people who responded to my partner Christine's article, which was published in the last issue, we must apologize. As this illness came up, it became very clear that the work that Christine and I had to do personally was not finished. It was, therefore, that I restated my desire to stay in the 3-D realm for a while longer. The dramatic turnaround in my energy after making this affirmation was astonishing. I am now stronger than I have been for the last two years. Unfortunately, when the soul issues the call of return and an illness is instigated to bring about that recall, there is little that healing can do to halt the process. In order to give me more time I had to allow a very good doctor in Cairo permission to remove the tumour with a laser. I felt that this was appropriate, using light as a way of excising that which needed to be removed. My feeling is that once the call has been issued, there is no turning back. It feels that you can postpone the process a while, but ultimately the path is already chosen.

It allows me now to live in the world in a different way. I see the beauty all around me, I wonder at the sun rises and sunsets, of the nature which is abundant around our Villa here in Egypt, and see each of these things as a gift.

As I went through this process up to the point of reversal, a great part of me had already transited into the higher dimensions. It feels as though I have had a near death experience, which I guess I have. I have a full remembering of the energies I encountered on the inner plane's and this has transformed the way Christine and I teach in our workshops.

We are planning an extensive tour of the US next year, to anchor the Angelic Energy into as many places as we can, as part of a round the world trip. Again, the details of where we will teach will be on our websites by the end of this year, and we hope to connect with as many people as possible on that trip.

Times are certainly moving fast. As a matter of fact, they are moving so fast we no longer have time to think about what is happening. The old days of spending hours in our minds thinking about things over and over seems to be at an end.

Instantaneous creation. Is this what it meant by the coming shift? And if I, as a spiritual being, am beginning to explore my capacity for instantaneous creation, then I need to answer these question for myself: What do I truly want and desire in my life? Can I hold on to things that are no longer true for me and who I am becoming? I feel the need for self-truth -- for exploring and looking at my passions.

What is my passion? What does it look like? For each of us our passion could be as different as listening to or playing music, being with our families, painting, sports, being out on the land, our chosen field of work writing -- anything that excites us. The easiest way to find out what our passion is, is to determine what truly excites us, brings us joy and gives meaning to our lives.

Recently I was told by my Higher Self that I was going to be channeling. I wondered about it for many days. What would I be channeling and how would this information come across? Would I be aware of what I was channeling or would I be a trance channel, unconscious of what I was saying? I was really hoping I would become a conscious channel. The idea of having to listen to a tape of myself to find out what I had said was pretty amusing. How many of us would even do that? Would we be sharing important truths and then not have time to listen to it?

After a few days I realized I would be channeling an energy coming through from other realities. The first question is “I would like to know if, when giving a reading, you not only tell a seeker what their purpose is, (let’s take, for example, “Being a Lightworker”) but also what specific actions they should be taking to feel fulfilled. The next question is “Is it possible we have subconscious programs holding us back, and can you, Patty, help uncover that in a reading? And would just talking about it release it?”

Yes, I can help uncover subconscious programs or patterns in your chart. Because we are talking about your soul’s purpose, anything apparently holding you back is most likely part of your Divine Plan or Soul’s Purpose.

Let’s make one up. You have a pattern of relationships who seem perfect at first, then take advantage of you or leave you for no evident reason. You may feel as being held back from a committed relationship or of being defrauded or used. When looking at the chart, it is revealed that in past lives important to this one you had been taken very good care of by others to the point of expecting others to provide for you. As a soul, you believe this situation is out of balance and you want to correct it. Other planetary relationships in your chart would confirm the past life situation. So you attract people who flatter you long enough so you take care of them, maybe to the extreme of losing money to them. This can be called reversing roles. You wonder why you are disappointed in relationships. Unconsciously you are attracting people to help you recognize and experience past-life behavior. Many people have repeating disappointments or situations until they realize it is a lesson to learn this lifetime. When you realize you are not to allow yourself to be taken advantage of, you can work on changing the pattern revealed in your chart.

The same pattern of being victimized reveals a creative, psychic talent. When you become involved in creative activities and relationships with creative people, some of the disappointments disappear, but you always need to discern if a person is good for you romantically of financially. This same soul’s purpose indicates a need to develop a practical way of life because of previous lives lazily allowing others to provide for you. An activity that could balance past life creativity with present life need to be practical could be writing about creative or spiritual subjects or even having a garden. It would be helpful to attract a relationship with a practical person who would keep you grounded. Then you would not feel held back from a good relationship. A reading would reveal these patterns and their reasons, helping you understand why this is.

The second half of this question is “And would just talking about it release it?” You need to act on your newly found realization of past life activity and soul’s purpose for this lifetime. Talking about your patterns brings it to your conscious mind so you can act upon your new understanding. You would need to develop common sense and discernment, and learn to take some responsibility to provide for yourself instead of leaning on others. Mary of Magdala was named after a town on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. The root of the name "Magdalene" is the Hebrew word "migdal," which means "tower," "fortress," or "stronghold.

Mary Magdalen appears in the four canonical Christian gospels. She is the one who annointed Jesus with a very precious aromatic essence of spikeNARD. She is also important to the Gnostics but remains a subject of ongoing debate.
